We at Bifillagen have over 19 years experience installing heaters to the Aus standard.
We understand that looks are also critically important externally. So we rarely require unattractive guide wires as our installation techniques allow for strong support that doesn't rattle or swing in the breeze. In fact you can hang off the casing without movement.
No matter what your predicament, chances are we have installed in your situation before. Such as multiple storey flues, through cupboards, through internal and external walls, elbows below and above the ceiling, steep roofs, high roofs, inbuilts with all kinds of chimneys, pergolas and much more.
Bifillagen has been creating hearths for 19 years and can custom build hearths to suit your requirements.
You are able to customise everything from slate or tiles of your choice, grout colour, border type, colour and height, and not to forget about shape.
Each heater has a minimum clearance to allow for, usually 200mm either side and 350mm to the front, beyond that you might want have an area for your tools and/or wood box to sit.
Radiant heaters usually require an extremely large clearance to the rear. A matching hearth to go behind the heater and up the wall will eliminate this.
The hearths are created at our workshop and are placed on your flooring. You do not need to remove the carpet from under them.
If you live in a long house or just want to regulate the temperature in the heater room then a WATS is likely to be the answer.
The WATS works by drawing heated air from the heater room and transfers it through ducting usually in the ceiling to another section of the house. Typically the end of a hallway, bedrooms, or separate living area. There is an inline fan with a variable switch to operate at the desired flow.
More than one outlet can be used but the output of heat from the heater must be considered.
The other benefit of using a WATS is to regulate temperature in the heater room. This is done by extracting excess heat from the room which allows for cooler air to enter the room. Eventually the entire home will become evenly warm as the heat is circulated.
Another bonus is that the same WATS can be used to draw cool air during the summer.
There is a wide range of accessories available.
These include Firescreens that attach to the walls to prevent movement and that can be opened to allow access to the heater door.
Tools kits of various styles
Flue brushes if you wish to clean your own flues. It is recommended that flues are cleaned every 2-3 years depending largly on heater use and wood burnt. A clogged flue will draw poorly and you will get a poor burn plus black glass and smoke re-entering your room when you open the door.
Soot catchers. These go just below the cowl and as the name suggests catch the soot that the rain washes off the cowls. They have a hose that then takes this water off the roof. If you are relying on rainwater these are a must. They also protect the flue and roof. If you have a corrogated roof, the soot that is washed off the cowl is acidic and over time will stain and corrode your roof and flue casings. It will also eat throuh the lead flashing over time if you have a tiled roof.
