Window Tinting has a wide and varied range of products and applications. These range from glare reduction to heat reduction to retention of internal winter warmth. Not all films are dark so you can let the light in while insulationg the windows, similarly not all film stop a great amount of heat, so you can stop the glare but allow the winter warmth to enter.
There is still a misconception that window tint wont last. However this couldn't be any more incorrect. Technological advances in window film allow for most films to carry a lifetime warranty on domestic applications, and a 12 year warranty on commercial applications.
This is available as most films these days are metalised and contain no dyes. Those that do contain dyes no longer turn purple. All architecural films are guaranteed not to peel, bubble, demetalise, go purple, crack, delaminate, distort, fade or change colour.
Reduces Heat by up to 80% :
The amount of heat that is rejected does not depend on how dark the film is. There are light films available that will cut just as much heat as the darker ones. What it depends on is what metals construct the film. Also the darker the film the more heat it absorbes into the glass. You will find that the more reflective the film the better the heat rejection. You will be able to get by without the air conditioner on all the time or up so high which over the years (usually within 7) will pay for the film itself.
Reduces Glare by up to 95% :
The amount of glare the tint reduces does depend on how dark the film is. The darker the film the more it reduces. The lower the glare the more comfortable the inside of your home or business will be. You will no longer get horrid reflection of your TV's or monitors. An added benefit is that your flower gardens will look brighter and the colours more vivid as the glare is reduced.
Reduces UV Rays by up to 99% :
As UV rays are a major contributor to fading of furnishings, all your belongings will retain their colours longer. There is little chance you will get burnt through the film either which is very noticable in cars and offices in direct sunlight.
Increases Privacy :
With homes being built so close together these days it comes as a relief not be seen within your own home. You no longer require lace curtains during the day allowing you to bring the outside closer in. You will still require curtains at night however as films allow vision to the area of greatest light.
Increases Aesthetics :
Allows uniformity accross the home or business. Coupling with increased privacy it allows for messy teenagers/childrens rooms to go unnoticed, computers and their cords concealed and overall creating an immaculate look to the property.
Increases Safety :
Safety films has a break strength of 105lb/in and holds the glass in place when the glass is broken preventing cuts from shardes of glass. Safety film will hinder thieves as they don't expect the glass to be strengthened and will usually be discouraged from creating too much noise.
Increases Security :
Security films have a break strength of 170lb/in and 295lb/in. If you have large glass or at a higher risk of continued attacks on the glass then the security films will be more effective.
Both Safety and Security films are clear however there is a limited range of tinted safety films available. Tinted films are able to be fitted over safety films if required.
Reduces Vandalism :
A common form of graffiti around Adelaide is to scratch the glass. Anti Graffiti films work by protecting the window from such scratches. The film is very subtle and doesn't impact on the shop at all. Infact most of the city, shopping centres, buses and restaurants are protected. When the offender scratches the pane all he is doing is damaging the film and not the glass. The film is able to be quickly and cheaply replaced saving the cost of replacing the glass. Bifillagen does not recommend the use of buffers for previously scratched glass as this creates horrid distortions which in many cases looks worse than the initial vandalism. Instead if you clean the glass efficiently then apply the Anti Graffiti film - the adhesives will enter the scratch and conceal it. Our film remains clear usually for at least 6 years in most conditions providing extended protection.
